W.G. Smith Construction Company, Inc. was founded by Bill Smith in 1986. While still working at Savannah River Site, Bill started the company as a side business of building a 2-4 homes a year. He was always enthusiastic about watching the progression of a home, from the planning stage up to a physical address that some people call home; an enthusiasm that remains to this day. During his time from 1986 to 1997, W.G. Smith Construction was establishing a solid reputation one customer at a time. In 1997, Bill decided to leave the job at SRS to start building full time and hasn’t looked back since. In 2005, Bill’s son Jarrett Smith joined the company after graduating from Clemson University with a degree in Construction Science and Management. Bill & Jarrett have remained active in Home Builder’s Association at the local and the state level with Bill being a past president of the HBA of SC and the HBA of Aiken County.
W.G. Smith Construction has been in operation for 25 years at all varying levels of activity. Each employee of W.G. Smith Construction has had experience in all of the duties associated with the construction of a Custom home whether it be initial customer contact, estimating, managing customer selections, managing personnel, managing jobs, accounts receivable, etc. We remain a small family owned business to this day with congenial expertise in all facets of residential construction. We maintain a casual but professional workplace where we are always accessible to our clients, and we have an extensive backlog of satisfied clients that we still communicate with to this day.
W.G. Smith Construction Company, Inc. is located in Aiken, SC and builds in the Central midlands of South Carolina to include, but not limited to: City of Aiken, Aiken County, City of North Augusta, Edgefield County, Saluda County, Lexington County, Lake Murray.
